In addition, scammers can reach a person who has blocked all unknown calls through instant messengers. It’s even simpler — you can place a photo of a bank or a government agency’s logo on your account, which increases trust. In the messenger, the victim can be sent a deepfake with a recording of the voice of a relative who supposedly needs help, various photos or videos. All this, as a rule, is generated by artificial intelligence, but is an effective way to confuse the interlocutor.
The only thing you can do is to answer calls from unfamiliar numbers less often, and if they answer, do not say anything first. “The voice can be recorded and used in the future even to confirm banking transactions,” Zakarian warned.
