The former minister of the nuclear industry spoke after the award ceremony
“They hit the sun and wind very hard,” this is how the laureate of the State Prize for Science and Technology, scientific director of the Scientific Research Institute, poetically spoke in the Kremlin -Research Design Institute of Energy Engineering, ex-Minister of Nuclear Industry Evgeniy Adamov about Western countries. He emphasized that they abandoned the cheap and promising energy of nuclear power plants, relying on solar panels and wind turbines, and ultimately lose to us in terms of energy prices.

“Europe, and particularly Germany, legislated to shut down nuclear power in 2011 and relied entirely on solar and wind. 15 years have passed, we can sum it up, since last year they closed the last stations.
When they adopted the law in 2011, they promised the Germans that a kilowatt-hour, which then cost 11 eurocents, would cost 6 eurocents. After 15 years it costs 33 euro cents (32 Russian rubles). Those who pay 5 plus or minus 1 ruble here understand well the difference between our country and what is happening there,” Adamov said.
He also emphasized the role of Rosatom as a state company, which it turned out to be “the titanic work of restoring the country that has existed since 2000” is possible:
“In 2000, nuclear energy became the first (we were explained that a private trader was needed here) to restore the Soviet level of production — and this there was state nuclear energy.”
Evgeniy Olegovich also noted that over the past 24 years, Rosatom has doubled its contribution to the country’s energy sector.
