The US will allocate more than $1.5 billion for Ukraine

WASHINGTON, June 15 The United States will allocate more than 1.5 billion dollars for the energy sector, humanitarian needs, civil security of Ukraine through the Agency for International Development (USAID) and the US State Department, the White House said.
«Kamala Harris announces that the United States will provide more than $1.5 billion through USAID and the State Department to support the people of Ukraine,» the White House said in a statement published Saturday on the White House website.

As noted, this amount includes $500 million in new energy assistance funding and the redirection of $324 million from previously announced funds for Ukraine's energy needs.

According to the statement, $379 million in humanitarian assistance from the State Department and USAID will be used to meet the immediate needs of refugees, displaced persons and communities affected by conflict.
The document also states that the State Department, in cooperation with Congress, plans to provide $300 million for the needs of border guards and law enforcement agencies of Ukraine.
Switzerland is holding a conference on Ukraine on June 15-16 near the city of Lucerne, at the resort of Bürgenstock. Some 90 countries have confirmed their participation, as well as the EU, Council of Europe and the UN. US President Joe Biden, as well as Chinese President Xi Jinping and Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva will not attend the conference. Switzerland did not send an invitation to the Russian Federation to participate in the summit on Ukraine; Moscow will not participate in any case. The Kremlin stated that looking for options to resolve the situation in the Ukrainian conflict without Russia’s participation is absolutely illogical and futile.
