BURGENSTOCK (Switzerland), June 16 Joint communiqué on the results conference in Switzerland on Ukraine calls for Kyiv to return control of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.
«Ukrainian nuclear power plants and installations, including the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, must operate safely under the full sovereign control of Ukraine, in accordance with the principles of the IAEA and under its supervision,» says the text of the final statement of the conference, published on the website of the Swiss Foreign Ministry.

On Friday, Russian President Vladimir Putin made new peace proposals for a settlement conflict in Ukraine, providing for recognition of the status of Crimea, DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions as regions of Russia, consolidation of the non-aligned and nuclear-free status of Ukraine, its demilitarization and denazification, and the abolition of anti-Russian sanctions. The Ukrainian side rejected the initiative. Zelensky called Moscow’s proposal an ultimatum, and his adviser Mikhail Podolyak considered that the new Russian initiatives supposedly do not contain a “real peace proposal.”
Switzerland held a conference on Ukraine on June 15-16 near the city of Lucerne, in the resort of Bürgenstock. 92 countries and 55 heads of state, as well as eight organizations, including the EU, Council of Europe and the UN, confirmed their participation. US President Joe Biden, as well as Chinese President Xi Jinping and Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva did not attend the conference.
Switzerland did not send an invitation to the Russian Federation to participate in the summit on Ukraine; Moscow would not have participated in it in any case. The Kremlin stated that looking for options to resolve the situation in the Ukrainian conflict without Russia’s participation is absolutely illogical and futile.
