PARIS, June 15 French court on Friday has decided to ban Israeli companies from participating in the Eurosatory military exhibition opening in France on Monday, Parisien reports.
«On Friday evening, the Bobigny court ordered the company organizing the Eurosatory exhibition, which opens on Monday in Villepinte (a suburb northeast of Paris — ed.), to ban the participation of Israeli companies, as well as all those who could perform at as their intermediaries,” the media reported.
It is noted that before this, the Ministry of Defense for the first time turned to the Coges company, the organizers of the salon, to ban the participation of Israeli military companies — due to suspicions of involvement in the commission of war crimes and even genocide in the Gaza Strip.
The company reported that the Israeli stand, where 74 military enterprises were supposed to exhibit, was removed. However, the association «Solidarity with Palestine» considered the organizers' promises insufficient and went to court, noting that the absence of a stand does not guarantee that Israeli defense companies will not be present at the exhibition.
The court ruled that the measures taken by the company were indeed insufficient, ordering a ban on access and participation in any form by Israeli arms manufacturers and any employee or representative of Israeli arms companies.
The Eurosatory exhibition, which takes place every two years, is one of the largest international military exhibitions. About 100 thousand representatives of the defense business take part in it. The exhibition will be held from June 17 to 21.
