The official premiere of the new Lada sedan took place recently, and we decided to imagine what the top version of the model with the Sport prefix will look like.
Last week AVTOVAZ demonstrated its new compact model named Iskra. It is stated that the car will occupy an intermediate market niche between Granta and Vesta. So far, only the sedan has been presented, but in the future there will also be a station wagon and its cross-version; we made renderings of them relatively recently. We can assume that a Sport version will be offered on the sedan base, especially since both “neighboring” models in the range already have it.

In terms of appearance, we can focus on the existing sports versions of Granta and Vesta, although it is quite logical if the new product looks more like a more recent older model. The sedan shown in the renderings received a gray color, a new front bumper with large contrasting inserts on the sides and red trim at the bottom, X-shaped moldings and a black radiator grille. From the side, the sports modification can be distinguished by the sills and new wheels of larger diameter. In addition, there is a new rear bumper with decorative inserts on the edges and red trim, as well as a spoiler on the trunk lid.

The new Lada Iskra is built on a modern platform, which the company calls technologically independent (most likely, this is a modified CMF-B “trolley” developed by Renault-Nissan). The base sedan will be offered with a 1.6 petrol engine producing 90 hp. paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. A more powerful modification will receive a 106-horsepower engine of the same volume, and the transmission will be a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission (probably a CVT). It’s too early to talk about a potential Sport version; for comparison, Granta Sport is equipped with a 118-horsepower 1.6 engine, and the pre-restyling Vesta Sport is equipped with a 145-horsepower 1.8.

The start of serial production of the standard Lada Iskra sedan is scheduled for early 2025. Prices will be announced later, in all likelihood, they will be between the prices of the Granta (from 699,900 rubles) and Vesta (from 1,459,900 rubles) sedans.
