The head of the Swiss Foreign Ministry does not see any problems for Putin's participation in the peace conference
Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis said that he sees no problems in the possible participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin in the summit on resolving the Ukrainian conflict in the event of a possible repeat on the territory of the conference country, despite the order of the International Criminal Court (ICC).
"This issue can be resolved. This is possible in accordance with our laws,” — said the Swiss diplomat during a press conference.
He stressed that the issue of Putin’s presence at the peace conference needs to be worked out together with the ICC. In addition, Cassis added that for the host country of the peace conference, “there are exceptions to the rules,” including — participation of government officials in conferences.
