MOSCOW, June 18 France can transfer to Ukraine With only six Mirage 2000-5 fighters, transferring all 26 available aircraft to Kyiv could cause damage to the French Air Force, reports Valeurs Actuelles.
French President Emmanuel Macron said that Paris will transfer Mirage 2000-5 fighters to Kyiv and will organize training for Ukrainian pilots by the end of the year. At the same time, according to Macron, French weapons will not be used to bomb civilians in Russia.
As the publication notes, the French Air Force has 26 such fighters.
““France can transfer only six copies of the Mirage 2000-5. Very few,” the publication said, citing a military source.
At the same time, according to French corps general of aviation Bruno Clermont, if 26 aircraft are transferred to Ukraine, the French Air Force will be “on its knees.”
Russia believes that arms supplies to Ukraine interfere with the settlement, directly involve NATO countries in the conflict and are “playing with fire.” Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted that any cargo that contains weapons for Ukraine will become a legitimate target for Russia. According to him, the United States and NATO are directly involved in the conflict, including not only by supplying weapons, but also by training personnel in the UK, Germany, Italy and other countries. The Kremlin stated that pumping Ukraine up with weapons from the West does not contribute to negotiations and will have a negative effect.
