MOSCOW, June 17 YouTube is starting to develop a new experimental feature for notes on video content to improve the quality of additional information about the material being viewed, the video hosting site reports.
«Starting today, we are testing an experimental feature that allows users to add notes to provide relevant, timely and understandable context to videos,» the release states. 
YouTube adds that these notes may include information about the release date of the product featured in the video, or flag outdated video clips that could be mistaken for current events.
The pilot phase of development will be launched for users in the United States in English, the press release notes. At the same time, at this stage of testing, video hosting expects viewers and authors of video materials to actively work on errors and inaccuracies in the formation of notes for them. 
According to YouTube, at the initial stage of development, the notes function will be provided only to a certain category of video content creators, leading active channels on video hosting spaces that meet the requirements of the community.
Video hosting hopes that in the coming months, users of the platform will be able to evaluate the “usefulness” of the created notes for video content for further training of YouTube algorithms.
