YAKUTSK June 18,.Russian President Vladimir Putin attended a concert at the V.A. Higher School of Music. Bosikov (HSM) in Yakutsk, musical numbers were performed by students of the educational institution in the presence of the head of state.
During the concert, the children's brass band of the Higher School of Music performed «Tankman's March». During the performance of the piece, footage of Russian tank crews in the Northern Military District zone was shown in the background. 
“I want to thank the teachers, thank the musicians for what you have been doing for Russian culture, for the culture of Yakutia for so many years and with such quality. Thanks to art, folk traditions, character, which is developed on the basis of art and our traditions, tankers such as those who served on the tank in the crew of “Alyosha.” But when they appear, this in turn feeds the artists. All this is interconnected, it gives such a wonderful effect,” Putin said after the concert.
The President of the Russian Federation arrived in Yakutia on Tuesday. The head of state visited the creative cluster «Quarter of Labor» and then came to GSOM. 
The Higher School of Music was created on the initiative of the first president of the republic, Mikhail Nikolaev, in 1993 and unites all levels of general education and special training of musicians. The institution is one of the leading universities for training professional personnel in the field of musical art and culture in the Far East.
During the work of GSOM, 515 people received education, according to the background information of the Kremlin press service prepared for the event. Currently, 279 people are undergoing training.

«For 30 years, GSOM students have won grand prix more than 1000 times, received the titles of laureates and diploma recipients of interregional, all-Russian and international competitions for young musicians-performers,» the reference materials say.
In 2023, the institution updated its fleet of musical instruments for a total amount of over 22 million rubles, of which 16 million rubles were allocated from the federal budget. In 2021, design and estimate documentation for the construction of the second stage of the Higher School of Music building complex was developed, and the ceremonial installation of the first pile took place on April 27.
