The security forces detained the cook of the Savon-K bean manufacturing company in the case of mass poisoning of Moscow residents with food from the “Kitchen on the District” delivery service. This was reported by the main department of the Investigative Committee.
The detainee is a citizen of Tajikistan Karim Normatov. He was charged with producing products and providing services that do not meet safety requirements (clause “a” of Part 2 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code).
According to the investigation, Normatov, “on the instructions of the actual head” of the company, Vladimir Shin, prepared and packaged beans in vacuum packaging in violation of safety requirements in order to transport them to the company’s warehouse with minimal financial costs «LocalKitchen».
On June 18, three people were detained in this case — the general director of «Kitchen on the District» Anton Lozin, the head of the service quality department Elena Mashkova and the «de facto head» of the Savon-K company Vladimir Shin.
All three were charged with selling dangerous products. Shin was also charged with organizing illegal migration (clause “b” of Part 2 of Article 322.1 of the Criminal Code). According to investigators, several company employees—citizens of Uzbekistan—were illegally registered. Today the Zamoskvoretsky District Court of Moscow must choose a preventive measure for all accused.
Massive complaints of food poisoning in Moscow began to be received on June 11. More than 100 people went to hospitals, 30 of them are in intensive care with botulism. Rospotrebnadzor associates poisoning with lobio from “Kitchen in the area” and salad with beans and tuna from the manufacturer «Gatroport».
Several more cases of botulism were recorded in Nizhny Novgorod and Kazan.
