WASHINGTON, June 18 Elon Musk fears that the excessive spending of the American government will lead the country to collapse, he wrote about this on the social network X.
«The federal government will bring America to oblivion,” the entrepreneur commented on the calculations of one of the social network users, in which he came to the conclusion that “the interest on the US national debt in May of this year amounted to $103 billion, and in the next 12 months the national debt will grow by another $2 trillion.”
In May, the US Congressional Budget Office published a report according to which the country's national debt over the next 30 years will increase to 166% of GDP, while the risk of an increase to 250% of GDP cannot be ruled out. During Joe Biden's presidency, the US national debt has grown from $28 trillion in 2021 to an unprecedented level of more than $34.5 trillion this year.
