Poland will cancel part of the payments for Ukrainian refugees

WARSAW, June 20. Polish authorities have made a decision to cancel payments to Ukrainian refugees and homeowners for housing immigrants from a neighboring country in the private sector from July 1, the IAR news agency reported.
«»The Polish government, proposing to cancel the «40+» benefit, explained this by difficulties in ensuring the reliability of the system. More and more applications under the program were submitted by Ukrainian citizens themselves, which raised doubts whether they were not accommodating people who were members of their families,» — indicated in the material.

Before this, home owners who accommodated refugees from Ukraine in their homes were paid 40 zlotys per day for each person (about ten dollars).

One-time payments for the refugees themselves in the amount of 300 zlotys (about 75 dollars) will also stop.
According to the Polish Ministry of Internal Affairs for May, just over 950 thousand Ukrainians living in the country have valid registration.
The UN predicts that there will be 1.1 million refugees in Poland by the end of the year.
