MOSCOW, June 19The Zamoskvoretsky court of Moscow sent the general director of the company «Local Kitchen», also known as «Kitchen on the District», Anton Lozin under house arrest in the case of mass poisoning, the authority reported.
«The court refused to satisfy the investigator's request to select Lozin was given a preventive measure in the form of detention. A preventive measure was chosen in the form of house arrest until August 15,” the statement says.
Previously On Wednesday, the court also placed under house arrest the head of the quality department of Local Kitchen, Elena Mashkova, and the de facto head of the company, the bean manufacturer Savon-K, Vladimir Shin, and the cook of the company, the bean manufacturer Savon-K LLC, Karim Normatov, was taken into custody.< br />
Mass infection with botulism
An outbreak of botulism was registered in Moscow (more than 120 people contacted doctors with suspicion of this disease), in the Moscow region (20 people were hospitalized), Nizhny Novgorod (16) and Kazan (15).
Botulism is an acute toxic-infectious disease characterized by severe damage to the nervous system, mainly the medulla oblongata and spinal cord. If the development is unfavorable, there is a high probability of death. The incubation period, as a rule, ranges from two hours to five days from the moment of ingestion of low-quality food.
As Rospotrebnadzor found out, all the victims ate “Lobio Salad” produced by Local Kitchen LLC. In Moscow, they also suspended the sale of “Salad with tuna, beans and apple” from the manufacturer Gastroport.
The Investigative Committee opened criminal cases for the provision of services that do not meet life and health safety requirements.
