CSTO Secretary General Tasmagambetov: Armenia continues to be an ally of the organization
The CSTO retains all obligations to Armenia. In addition, the republic remains an ally of the organization. CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov told reporters about this.
“Armenia was and is our ally in the CSTO, and all our obligations to Armenia remain,” said the Secretary General.
He also added that a country’s desire to stay or leave the CSTO is the sovereign right and decision of the state. At the same time, Tasmagambetov expressed confidence that Yerevan will eventually clarify its position regarding the organization — to remain in it or not.
Previously, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan stated that Yerevan intends to leave the organization, but when deems it necessary.
