NALCHIK, June 21Police officers in Ingushetia detained a local resident who is suspected of wounding a local police commissioner with a firearm, the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.
According to the ministry, on Thursday the local police commissioner of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Nazran district conducted an inspection on a farm on the outskirts of the village of Ali-Yurt regarding violations of migration legislation. 
“When a police officer expressed his intention to check the documents of two employees — foreign citizens, the 38-year-old owner of the farm became indignant and fired a firearm, causing a leg injury to the law enforcement officer,” the report says.
The shooter fled, and the wounded policeman was hospitalized.
“»During a set of measures, the police detained the suspect. The investigative authorities opened a criminal case against him on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Article 318 (use of violence against a representative of the authorities — ed.) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation,» clarifies ministry.
The sanction of this article of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation provides for up to ten years in prison.
