CHISINAU, June 22 Romania plans to develop its own unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and open a training center for drone operators by the end of the year, Economy Minister Radu Oprea told local media.
“»We are convinced that by the end of the summer we will have a project plan for the Romanian drone ready. By the end of the year the project will be implemented. And the Carfil company, a representative office of the state-owned enterprise Romarm, intends to open a training center for UAV operators for both civilian and for military purposes,” Radio Romania quotes Oprea as saying.
The Minister noted that Carfil has entered into an agreement with the American Periscope Aviation to produce their drone in Romania, which is now being produced in China.
