The Zelenodolsk District Court of Tatarstan suspended the consideration of the criminal case against Andrei Bogdanov, accused of attempting to set fire to a military registration and enlistment office. Information about this is reflected in the court card; Mediazona drew attention to it.
As stated on the court’s website, Bogdanov did not appear at the hearings on May 31 and June 19, after which on June 20 the consideration of the case was suspended with the wording “ The defendant fled.» He is accused of attempted damage to someone else's property (Part 2 of Article 167 using Part 3 of Article 30 of the Criminal Code) and repeated “discredit” of the army (Part 1 of Article 280.3 of the Criminal Code).
According to the investigation, September 4, 2022 Bogdanov threw several Molotov cocktails at the Zelenodolsk military commissariat building. The next day, the man was detained on charges of damaging someone else's property.
The basis for the criminal case for “discrediting” the army, as the human rights project “Zone of Solidarity” writes, was the man’s publications in Odnoklassniki — in them Bogdanov wished Putin to end up in the Spandau prison for Nazi criminals and to come to him every night the souls of those killed in Bucha came. Previously, a resident of Tatarstan also participated in anti-war actions, which is why he was prosecuted under an administrative article for “discrediting” the army.
From September 2022 to March 2023, Bogdanov was in a pre-trial detention center, after which he was placed under a ban on certain activities. On March 31, 2023, his case was submitted to the court for consideration, but already in November the materials were returned to the prosecutor due to violations in the indictment. The case was later re-registered in court on December 18.
