The Russian distributor Ixen Motors Rus announced the Forthing T5 crossover, new to our market, back in the spring. Now the price has been announced. True, sales have not yet started: it is assumed that the launch of the SUV will take place before the end of summer. Let us remind you that the Forthing brand belongs to the Dongfeng concern. And the T5 SUV will become the fourth model in the range — it will join the T5 Evo crossover, Yacht and M7 vans. By the way, starting this year, Forthing cars for Russia are assembled locally (with the exception of the M7): production has been established at the Kaliningrad Avtotor plant.
The length of the Russian Forthing T5 is 4545 mm, width – 1825 mm, height – 1750 mm, wheelbase – 2720 mm. Thus, in terms of its dimensions it is comparable to the Geely Atlas Pro/Belgee X70. The T5 has McPherson struts at the front and a multi-link at the rear. The crossover has all-round disc brakes.

Forthing T5 will be offered to Russians with a non-alternative 1.5 petrol turbo-four, which, according to the distributor’s press release, has been made «based on Mitsubishi technology.» The engine produces 144 hp. and 215 Nm, it is combined with a classic six-speed automatic transmission. The engine can be “powered” by AI-92. There is still not a word about all-wheel drive.
For the T5, one configuration has been announced so far. The list of equipment includes: leather interior, heated front seats, Russified multimedia system, rear view camera, electric tailgate, standard video recorder, stability control system and cruise control.
Recommended price Forthing T5 – 1,900,000 rubles (excluding shares). Moreover, the release notes that the previously planned price was 2,300,000 rubles: it was brought down by organizing local assembly.
