The cause of the underground explosion in a microdistrict in Kazakhstan has been named
The akimat of Kazakhstan's Taraz explained the cause of the underground explosion that occurred late in the evening in the Karasu microdistrict. Initially, an explosion of an underground gas pipeline was suspected.
As the akimat explains on social networks, the gas pipeline does not pass through the site of the explosion. The cause of the emergency, due to which the asphalt in the area of 26 residential buildings was damaged, the ground collapsed and a fire occurred, was a violation of a high-voltage underground cable coming from a local substation.
What exactly caused the cable failure is not known to the akimat clarified. Now the cable is disconnected, brought into a safe condition, repair work is underway.
An explosion in Taraz, Zhambyl region, occurred late on Saturday evening. As a result of the incident, a number of residential buildings were left without electricity. There is no information about possible casualties.
