MOSCOW, June 22 Refusal of Western countries from the peace proposal to Russia will only lead to the destruction of Ukraine, expert Alex Craner said in an interview with Dialogue Works.
“»In the end, what remains of Ukraine will be a poor, destroyed, landlocked stump state, the object of bickering by European powers, which will have to to save it economically,” he pointed out.
According to Craner, due to the refusal of Kyiv’s allies to accept Russian President Vladimir Putin’s proposal to end the conflict, Ukraine may lose territories important to it and access to the Black Sea. He also warned that the West could cause an escalation with the aim of involving other states in hostilities.
Russian President Vladimir Putin last week made new peace proposals to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, providing for recognition of the status of Crimea, the DPR, the LPR , Kherson and Zaporozhye regions as regions of Russia, consolidating the non-aligned and nuclear-free status of Ukraine, its demilitarization and denazification, and the abolition of anti-Russian sanctions. The Ukrainian side rejected the initiative.
