MOSCOW, June 24 The investigation asks the court in Moscow to arrest in absentia the former Minister of Information Policy of Ukraine Yuriy Stets and ex-Minister of Justice Pavel Petrenko under the article on the use of prohibited means and methods of warfare, a law enforcement source said.
“»The investigation filed petitions in court for the arrests of Stets and Petrenko in absentia. They will be considered today,» the agency's interlocutor said.
According to the file of the Basmanny Court of Moscow, Stetsya and Petrenko are charged with Part 1 of Article 356 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (use of prohibited means and methods of warfare). It carries a penalty of up to 20 years in prison.
In May, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation put Stets and Petrenko on the wanted list under an article of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation; the department’s database did not indicate what article the former ministers were charged with.
