
MOSCOW, June 21 Russia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan support the peaceful use of space systems and will intensify dialogue on cooperation states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) in the use of outer space for peaceful purposes, the organization’s foreign ministers said in a statement.
«We support the use of civil space systems, including commercial ones, as well as achievements of space science, technologies and services exclusively for declared peaceful purposes, and we confirm the inadmissibility of using civil space systems and related ground infrastructure for undeclared purposes,» the joint statement says following the results of an extended meeting of the CSTO foreign ministers in Almaty.
The document also emphasizes that the countries, following the results of an extended meeting in which the Armenian side did not participate, the foreign ministers agreed to intensify dialogue on a wide range of issues related to strengthening international cooperation of the CSTO countries in space exploration for peaceful purposes.
The CSTO includes Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Armenia.
