The Savelovsky District Court of Moscow fined film critic Anton Dolin 5 thousand rubles for his obituary of actor Alexander Shirvindt, published in the publication Meduza. This was reported by the human rights project “First Department”.
At the beginning of June it became known that a protocol was drawn up against Dolina about participation in the activities of an “undesirable” organization (Part 1 of Article 20.33 of the Administrative Code). According to the First Department, the film critic was not notified of the date, time and place of drawing up the protocol, thereby violating his right to defense.
Since April 2024, security forces have been drawing up reports on journalists, experts and readers of Meduza, which the Prosecutor General’s Office has declared an “undesirable” organization. In particular, the publication's journalist Dmitry Kuznets received a fine of 10 thousand rubles, Anastasia Zhvik, who wrote for Meduza, was fined the same amount.
Last week, a court in Moscow fined Meduza publisher Galina Timchenko 14 thousand rubles. At the end of May, a protocol was also drawn up against her regarding her participation in an “undesirable” organization.
