MOSCOW , June 26Investigators detained two people in connection with a fire in Fryazino near Moscow, where six people died, the regional headquarters of the Investigative Committee reported on the Telegram channel.
“As part of an investigation into a criminal case involving the death of people as a result of a fire in an administrative and industrial building in Fryazino <…> the deputy general director of Isprin LLC, as well as a representative of the owner of the building, were detained,” the publication says.
The department established that the Isprin company was hired to ensure the safety of the property of the deceased owner-debtor; since 2021, the building has been under its jurisdiction.
The deputy general director of the company and a representative of the owner of the building rented out premises, collected money for utilities, but did not ensure their safety. In particular, they did not monitor the condition of the wiring and did not monitor compliance with fire safety requirements.
“»The cause of death was also a violation of fire safety requirements in terms of the lack of alarm systems, warning systems, fire extinguishing systems, as well as blocking fire exits,» — indicated in the Investigative Committee.
The fire occurred in an eight-story building in Fryazino on Monday afternoon. The fire spread over an area of five thousand square meters. The death of six people was officially reported.
A criminal case was opened under the article “Performance of work or provision of services that does not meet the requirements for the safety of life or health of consumers, resulting in the death of two or more persons through negligence.”
