The Investigative Committee opened a case against the teacher and author of a blog about history, Tamara Eidelman, under an article on the rehabilitation of Nazism on the Internet (Part 4 of Article 354.1 of the Criminal Code). The Moscow prosecutor's office reported this.
Last week, the prosecutor's office said that it had found statements on Eidelman's YouTube channel «expressing clear disrespect for the day of military glory of Russia and the memorable date of Russia associated with the defense of the Fatherland, and also insulting the memory of the defenders of the Fatherland.”
It is not specified which video we are talking about. Eidelman herself told Such Things that she learned about the filing of a case against her from journalists.
“This says only one thing: everything I do when I talk about how the current government distorts the history of the Second World War and uses Victory Day to promote war, I do correctly,” the historian added .
In addition to Eidelman, the capital's prosecutor's office demanded the prosecution in absentia of rapper Alisher Morgenstern, singer Monetochka (Elizaveta Gyrdymova) and actress Yana Troyanova.
Tamara Eidelman, whose YouTube channel with lectures has more than 1, 6 million subscribers, left Russia after the start of the war in Ukraine. In September 2022, the Ministry of Justice added the teacher to the register of “foreign agents.” Moscow judges several times imposed fines on her under the administrative clause for participants in the register.
