MOSCOW, June 28 The Russian government has adjusted the calculation of export duties on grain crops, which will reduce rates by an average of 700 rubles per ton and stimulate exports such products and support agricultural producers, the Cabinet of Ministers reports in its Telegram channel.
«The government has decided to adjust the calculation of export customs duty rates on grain crops. The basic export prices used in this calculation have been increased by 1 thousand rubles per ton for wheat, meslin, barley and corn. This will reduce export duty rates by an average of 700 rubles per ton, to stimulate the export of such products and support agricultural producers,” the message says.
Thus, the basic export prices for wheat and meslin have been increased from 17 thousand to 18 thousand rubles, for barley and corn — from 15,875 rubles to 16,875 rubles. It is noted that the decision was made in connection with the record grain harvest in 2023 and the sufficient supply of such products to the domestic market.
Floating duties on grain exports were introduced by the Russian government in 2021. The duty is 70% of the difference between the base price and the indicative price. It is calculated weekly based on indicators based on the prices of export contracts that are registered on the Moscow Exchange.
