
MOSCOW, July 3 American screenwriter and director, Oscar winner Robert Towne died at the age of 89, reports Variety.
«Oscar-winning screenwriter-director Robert Towne has died… He was 89 years old,» the report said.
According to the publication, Towne died on July 1.
Towne wrote screenplays for such films as The Last Dress (1973), Chinatown (1974), for which he won an Oscar, and Shampoo (1975). He also co-wrote the screenplays for Mission: Impossible (1996) and Mission: Impossible 2 (2000).
