MOSCOW, July 2 The Zamoskvoretsky Court of Moscow arrested four accused of kidnapping Italian businessman Stefanio Guidotti , the government agency reported.
“The court granted the petition to select a preventive measure in the form of detention in relation to the four accused,” the statement says.
The arrest period is until August 29 .
At the meeting, the investigator stated that all defendants in the case admitted guilt. As it was clarified in court, they acted on behalf of a third party and pretended to be law enforcement officers.
The Investigative Committee is now looking for others involved in the kidnapping.
On June 28, kidnappers armed with a pistol, acting as part of an organized group, attacked Moscow for an Italian citizen who also has Russian citizenship. They dragged him into a car, handcuffed him, threw a bag over his head and took him to Bryansk, where they kept him for 24 hours.
According to a source in law enforcement, this is the CEO of SAID Rus Stefanio Guidotti.
The Investigative Committee clarified that the kidnapped person had recently had a conflict with a business competitor.
