The court recognized businessman Shefler and his companies as an extremist association and confiscated the factories
The Tambov District Court upheld the claim of the Prosecutor General's Office against businessman Yuri Shefler and the commercial organizations controlled by him. According to the verdict, the entrepreneur and his Luxembourg companies Amber Beverage Group Holdings and Stoli Group are recognized as an extremist association, their activities are prohibited in the Russian Federation.
According to Interfax, the trial was held behind closed doors. The claim of the supervisory agency was satisfied, including in terms of the seizure of Shefler's assets in Russia in favor of the state.
The agency indicates that in the Tambov region there is a Shefler distillery with a capacity of 10 thousand deciliters per day. According to the Prosecutor General's Office, its capitalization exceeds 2 billion rubles, annual revenue is about 1.5 billion rubles, and gross profit is estimated at 700 million rubles. Shefler also owns JSC and LLC located in Kaliningrad. The businessman's movable and immovable property, including money in banks, are also subject to arrest at the request of the prosecutor's office.
The prosecutor's office previously stated that Shefler, according to the department, encourages Ukrainian shelling of Russian regions and that companies finance a fund that helps the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The day before, journalist Alexander Nevzorov (included in the register of foreign agents in the Russian Federation) and his wife Lydia Nevzorova were recognized as a banned extremist association. The court decided to confiscate the property of the Nevzorovs in Russia.
