Actor Vladimir Matveev died

ST. PETERSBURG, July 2. People's Artist of Russia Vladimir Matveev died at the age of 73, the Lensoveta Theater reported.
“Sudden death,” said the agency’s interlocutor, without specifying details.

Vladimir Matveev was born on 22 January 1952 in the village of Sladkovo, Maslyansky district, Tyumen region. In 1974 he graduated from the Leningrad State Institute of Theater, Music and Cinematography, after which he was accepted into the Lensovet troupe.

On this stage he played many roles in the plays “Lefty”, “The Taming of the Shrew”, “Last Summer in Chulimsk”, “The Threepenny Opera”, “The Murder of Gonzago”, “On a Lively Place”, “Measure for Measure”, “Karenin. Anna” . Vronsky», «Simplicity is enough for every wise man» and others. He also worked at the Buff Theater and at the Russian Entreprise named after Andrei Mironov.
