MOSCOW, July 2 Chairman of the United Party Russia» Dmitry Medvedev joked about countries where leaders «wander on stage» in the absence of help from party colleagues and noted the «comradely mutual assistance» in United Russia.
Medvedev held a meeting of the General Council of United Russia on Tuesday. At the meeting, among others, the issue of nominating ex-Minister of Sports Oleg Matytsin and former Deputy Prime Minister Victoria Abramchenko as United Russia candidates for by-elections to the State Duma was considered. By law, a secret ballot was held to approve their candidacies. State Duma deputy Alena Arshinova, at Medvedev’s request, described this procedure in detail to the meeting participants.
“After your speech, I realized that there may be separate questions,” the party chairman smiled after her speech.
He thanked Arshinova for explaining the voting procedure.
“On the other hand, it’s very good that everyone is explaining this. We know that in other countries they don’t help their bosses, that’s why they wander on stage. But we have comradely mutual assistance,” Medvedev noted.
