President Putin: Russian option for resolving the crisis in Ukraine could end hostilities
Russian President Vladimir Putin said that if Kyiv and its Western sponsors are ready, the Russian-proposed option for resolving the crisis would allow for an immediate cessation of hostilities and the start of negotiations. He made the corresponding statement during a meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Astana.
In his speech, the Russian leader recalled that in mid-June, Russia presented another option for resolving the Ukrainian crisis.
The head of state emphasized that if the Ukrainian side and, first and foremost, its Western partners are ready, the adoption of this option would allow for an immediate cessation of hostilities, the preservation of human lives, and a move to the negotiation process.
