The Samara Regional Court sentenced local resident Georgy Kamlash to 13 years in a maximum security colony in a treason case (Article 275 of the Criminal Code). The publications CityTraffic and Kommersant reported this with reference to the FSB.
In addition to the main punishment, the Samara resident was also given a fine of 250 thousand rubles and restriction of freedom for a period of one year. It is unknown when exactly the verdict was announced. The defense unsuccessfully tried to appeal the decision of the Samara Regional Court in the Fourth Court of Appeal of General Jurisdiction.
Kamlash was detained on the night of July 14 and taken to the police department in the Kinel-Cherkasy district of the region. There, a report was drawn up against the man regarding failure to comply with the demands of the security forces (Part 1 of Article 19.3 of the Administrative Code). What exactly caused the police complaints is not specified in the resolution. It is unknown for how many days Kamlash was arrested under this protocol.
According to the investigation, in the spring and summer of last year the man “conducted reconnaissance of the area” at the Kinel and Bezymyanka stations of the Kuibyshev Railway. Security officials claim that he sent pictures of trains with Russian military equipment to representatives of Ukrainian intelligence via telegram.
