Limarenko presented successful practices of Sakhalin in the field of management

YUZHNO-SAKHALINSK, July 5 Governor Valery Limarenko met with participants of the Far Eastern Media Summit 2.0, which is taking place in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, and presented successful practices of the Sakhalin region in the field of management.
«The regional government team is guided by three main principles in its work — caring for people, focusing on results and the ability to understand details, which allows us to strengthen public trust in the government, provide Sakhalin and Kuril residents with all the conditions for a decent life and harmonious development, increase the investment attractiveness of the region, introduce innovative practices and technologies in the field of economics, lead the Sakhalin Region to leadership in socio-economic development,» the head of the region noted in his speech.

According to Limarenko, achieving impressive results is helped by the use of unified approaches and tools, including data-based project management and lean manufacturing. These practices of the island region are now being adopted by managers from other regions of the country.

“We constantly monitor more than 800 parameters. Among them are the number of free coupons to see doctors, the need for plane tickets and other types of transport, the number of repaired entrances and courtyards and other indicators of the region’s activity. Such daily monitoring makes it possible to quickly make decisions and manage risks. You can monitor the implementation of investment projects in real time,” the head of the region emphasized.
The Governor noted that in the Sakhalin region priority is given to the oil and gas, transport and logistics, fishing, and medical sectors, and due attention is paid to aviation, including unmanned ones.
“When foreign companies Exxon and Shell left the Sakhalin shelf, we should have stopped production, but we overcame this barrier. Investments in the Sakhalin region are growing every year. And three-quarters of them are in the non-resource sector. When things are difficult for Russia, it gathers, and even sanctions become a point of development,” Limarenko said.

According to him, the issue of the need to build a bridge between Sakhalin and the mainland has been clearly resolved.

“If there is a bridge, it will immediately connect to four ice-free ports, two of which will become deep-sea in the next three years. Ocean liners will be able to enter there. We have set a course for oil and gas processing, that is, a cargo base will appear. This is something that has not been possible before Our President Vladimir Putin has already publicly stated several times that this issue needs to be addressed. I recently met with Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Vitaly Savelyev. We agreed that it was time to move on to the investment justification stage and calculate how much it would cost. was done by business, partly by the state. And this work has already been launched at the highest level,” the governor concluded.
