
MOSCOW, July 4 Flight tests of the first radar satellite «Condor-FKA» «, launched from the Vostochny cosmodrome in 2023, have been completed, said Alexander Leonov, general director of NPO Mashinostroyeniye.
«Flight tests have been completed. Completed successfully,» Leonov told reporters.
Condor-FKA No. 1 was launched into orbit on May 27, 2023 from the Vostochny Cosmodrome using the Soyuz-2.1a launch vehicle.
«Condor-FKA» is designed to solve agricultural problems, as well as to monitor the consequences of man-made and natural emergencies. In addition, the satellite will conduct surveys to record ice conditions on the Northern Sea Route and provide highly detailed images of particularly critical sections of this transport artery.
When the second such device is launched into orbit, they will be able to completely inspect the Northern Sea Route in six days.
