The Ministry of Justice added journalists Olesya Gerasimenko and Sergei Yezhov to the list of “foreign agents”.
The register also included lawyer of the Institute of Law and Public Policy Grigory Vaypan, current municipal deputy from St. Petersburg Sergei Troshin and former St. Petersburg municipal deputy Fyodor Utkin.
According to the department, they all disseminated “inaccurate information” about decisions made by the Russian authorities. In addition, everyone except Troshin opposed the invasion of Ukraine and “discredited” the army. Troshin, in turn, “promoted LGBT relationships.”
Olesya Gerasimenko is a correspondent for the BBC Russian Service, now she works for the publication “Vestk”. Sergei Yezhov is an investigative journalist at The Insider. Grigory Vaipan led the case of the “children of the Gulag,” who sought to provide them with housing where their relatives lived before Stalin’s repressions.
