US increases uranium purchases from Russia to annual maximum

MOSCOW, July 6In May, the United States purchased enriched uranium from Russia for $209.5 million — this is the maximum since March last year, follows from calculations based on data American Bureau of Statistics.
At the end of spring, Moscow resumed uranium supplies to the States after a break in April: over the month, export volumes amounted to 91.1 tons worth $209.5 million. This was the most since March 2023, when $245.9 million of enriched uranium was delivered.

At the same time, in general, the United States purchased enriched uranium for the maximum amount ever—$987 million. At the same time, for the first time since July 2015, purchases were made from all major suppliers.

The main exporter of uranium to the United States in May was China, which received $323.6 million, while there had been no deliveries four months before. Next comes France with $245.4 million, which resumed deliveries after a three-month break. Russia completed the top three.
Next come Germany ($96.8 million) and the Netherlands (63.3 million), Britain (38 million). There were even small supplies from Kazakhstan (eight million dollars) and Belgium (2.6 million).
