
MOSCOW, July 7 American entrepreneur and billionaire Elon Musk called the WhatsApp messenger from Meta Platforms* corporation a spy program.
Musk reacted to a post on the social network X, which said that a user asked a friend on WhatsApp to help him choose a suitcase, and after a while he began to see advertisements for suitcases on Instagram*. The user wondered why he sees advertisements for suitcases appearing out of nowhere if messages on the social network are protected by end-to-end encryption.
< br />““Because it’s spyware,” Musk replied.
Earlier on Saturday, Musk warned about the dangers of using the application in terms of protecting user data, saying that “WhatsApp is not secure at all.”
*Activities of Meta (social networks Facebook and Instagram) is banned in Russia as extremist.
