The FSB Directorate for Yakutia reported on the detention of a 36-year-old resident of the Mirny district in a case of treason (Article 275 of the Criminal Code). The department's press release is quoted by Interfax and Izvestia.
According to the FSB, a resident of Yakutia transferred money to the crypto-wallet of the Freedom of Russia legion. It is not specified when exactly he was detained.
The department claims that the man joined the group of the Ukrainian Armed Forces unit on a social network and received instructions on how to transfer cryptocurrency “from Ukrainian curators.”
“The defendant fully admitted his guilt and repented of his actions, he is cooperating with the investigation,” the FSB said in a statement. No other details of the criminal case are provided.
