Lawyer Dmitry Agranovsky, in a conversation with journalists, expressed the opinion that could help in the defense of the ex-commander of the 58th Army, general, accused of fraud Ivan Popov.
Commenting on previously appeared information about the leak of secret data, on the basis of which the Ukrainian prosecutor's office opened a case, the human rights activist suggested that if the investigation can establish a channel for leaking secret data to Ukraine, this could influence the decision in the case Popov.
"If, at the request of Popov’s lawyer, it is possible to open a channel for leaking classified information, then this can undoubtedly be noted by the state. In this regard, Popov can count on mitigation when considering the case in court,” says Agranovsky.
