Russian “military correspondent” Vladimir Romanov apologized for saying that units of the Chechen Akhmat detachment, which he called “Tiktokers,” are behind conscripts in the Belgorod region. He published an apology video on his Telegram channel.
Romanov mentioned “Tiktokers” in a 10-minute recording that he posted on July 5. “We have conscripts at the border in the Belgorod region, this is reality. TikTokers are behind them, and conscripts are ahead of us,” said the “military correspondent,” among other things.
The next day, the founder of the “Male State” Vladislav Pozdnyakov wrote that because of this video Romanov was “looking for the Chechens.” On July 7, a post with an apology appeared on the Voenkora channel.
In the video, Romanov says that he is “visiting” the Akhmat unit, and confirms that he called its fighters “Tiktokers”. According to the “military correspondent,” he met with the commander of “Akhmat” Apti Alaudinov and “those organizing the deployment of forces and means in the direction.” “I was clearly shown how everything worked,” says Romanov.
After the meeting with the Chechens, it became “absolutely clear” to him that the Akhmat units were standing together with the conscripts on the line of combat contact, and not behind them, the military correspondent claims.
“The words I said above in the video that “Akhmat” is behind the conscripts are incorrect. I trusted the information given to me from third-party sources, for which I bring before you and before the Akhmat unit. my apologies,” Romanov said.
