A court in Cheboksary sentenced a 62-year-old auxiliary worker to a year of probation in a case of “discrediting” the army

The Leninsky District Court of Cheboksary sentenced 62-year-old local resident Alexander Pavlov to one year probation under the article on repeated “discrediting” of the Russian army (Part 1 of Article 280.3 of the Criminal Code). Mediazona was informed about this by the press service.

The court employee added that the man was “banned from engaging in activities” for two years, but could not specify which activity. How to say what was the reason for the criminal case. Pavlov himself did not answer the call. Judging by the fact that a week ago the man visited his page on VKontakte, it can be assumed that he was not under arrest during the investigation and trial.

In April 2022, Pavlov was fined 30 thousand rubles under administrative law the case of “discrediting” the army (Part 1 of Article 20.3.3 of the Administrative Code) because of the posters that he hung on the walls of the underground pedestrian crossing, noted OVD-Info. The posters of the Cheboksary resident were posted by the Angry Chuvashia channel.

Pavlov, as stated in the resolution, explained that he first went out with these posters to a single picket. According to the man, he was provoked to this by the situation in the country and the increase in the retirement age — he was “boiling.” Then he hung them in the pedestrian crossing.

“He does not condemn the special operation to denazify and militarize Ukraine; on the contrary, he fully supports it, but he has his own vision of what is happening. He believes that without changing the course of development of our society from capitalism to socialism, Russia has no future. Change is simply necessary. To express his views on what was happening in the DPR and LPR, he hung self-made posters on the address wall, which he took down after the picket and kept at home,” the man’s position was stated in the court ruling.

In the document, Pavlov is called an auxiliary worker. Judging by social networks, he supports the Communist Party of the Russian Federation. On his page on VKontakte you can find videos with Gennady Zyuganov, Nikolai Platoshkin, as well as the creator of the banned party “Volya” Svetlana Lada-Rus (Peunova).
