
MOSCOW, July 9 Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi discussed the prospects for the development of the situation in the world in a calm format during an informal meeting at the Russian leader's residence, presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said in a comment to the online publication Life.
«The leaders chose this opportunity (to communicate informally at Putin's residence), it became available to us because the visit is two days. We discussed everything calmly, and not only the current situation, but also, I think, the prospects for the development of the situation in the world,» Ushakov said.
Answering the question of why the informal meeting was organized at Putin's residence, the presidential aide said that the leaders needed to discuss bilateral issues «in a calm atmosphere.»
«The leaders know each other well, firstly, and secondly, there was a need to talk in a calm atmosphere about bilateral issues, as well as about current international problems,» he added.
The Indian Prime Minister is in Russia on an official visit on July 8-9, his first trip to the Russian Federation in five years. On Monday, the leaders held an informal meeting at the Russian leader's residence in Novo-Ogaryovo.
