LUGANSK, July 9 Sappers of the Guards Motorized Rifle Division The Dnepr group of troops cleared an area mined by Ukrainian militants with the help of drones in the Orekhovsky direction in the Zaporozhye region, the Russian Ministry of Defense told reporters.
“The engineer-sapper regiment received a request to neutralize minefields and clear explosive objects from a certain area of the area that had been remotely mined by nationalists: the mines were dropped here using unmanned aerial vehicles,” the Russian Ministry of Defense reported.
It is reported that upon arrival at the indicated location, a group of sappers discovered not only anti-personnel mines dropped from Ukrainian Armed Forces drones, but also anti-tank mines.
“They use various types of ammunition, mines and homemade guns, self-propelled guns in completely different and unexpected places and designs,” the Defense Ministry quoted the commander of a technical platoon with the call sign “Rostov.”
According to him, the work of a military sapper in the Northern Military District zone mainly consists of accompanying assault groups and inspecting mined areas.
“When securing Russian units in positions cleared from the Armed Forces of Ukraine or choosing places for their installation, sappers need to check and completely clear the surrounding area of explosives in order to maximally secure the movement and placement of our military personnel in positions,” explained the Russian Defense Ministry.< br>
