Summer is approaching its zenith, and Russians are actively buying clothes and shoes for vacations and holidays. According to analysts at one of the large online payment systems, in June 2024 the number of shoe purchases increased the most — more than doubling compared to last year. The turnover of payments in shoe stores increased almost 3 times, the number of customers increased by 2.5 times, and the average check increased by 12% and amounted to 6,862 rubles.

Most often, Russians going on vacation bought clogs — the number of purchases has exactly doubled. Shales are just a little behind — they are purchased 92% more often than a year ago. Demand for sandals increased by 84%, and for special slippers for swimming in the sea (coral protection) by 66%.
“In the summer, most Russians go on vacation with the whole family, so the demand for clothing for leisure and sports, as well as for children’s, women’s and men’s clothing, is growing. Since most summer cruise collections are aimed at women, we see an increase in women's clothing purchases in June compared to May. From June 1 to June 20, 2024, compared to May 1-20, 2024, the number of purchases of women's clothing increased by 63%, turnover in this category increased by 54%, and there were more buyers by 57%, while the average bill changed slightly — became lower by 6% and amounted to 9,765 rubles,” says Irina Polyakova, an analyst at one of the online payment systems.
In general, from June 1 to June 20, 2024, relative to the same period last year, the number of purchases of men’s and women’s clothing increased by 45%, turnover by 29%, and fewer buyers by 6%. The average bill decreased by 11% and amounted to 10,274 rubles. During the reporting period, the number of purchases of shorts, sundresses, and beach dresses doubled. The number of purchases of children's clothing also increased — by 30% year on year, turnover in this category increased by 65%, and there were more buyers by 16%. The average bill increased by 27% and amounted to 8,588 rubles.
