
MOSCOW, July 9 The trade turnover between Russia and India has grown 11-fold over the past ten years, reaching $65 billion last year, and in the first four months of this year it has already reached more than a third of the 2023 volume. year, follows from calculations based on data from the Indian Ministry of Trade and Industry.
Thus, in 2013, the trade turnover between the two countries amounted to only 6 billion dollars, of which 3.8 billion were Russian exports and 2.2 billion were Indian.
After 10 years, in 2023, the figure increased 10.8 times — to an all-time record of 64.6 billion dollars. Russia sent goods worth $60.6 billion to India, and India sent goods worth $4.1 billion to Russia.
The volume of trade between the two countries increased mainly against the backdrop of growing exports of Russian energy resources: over ten years their volume increased from $309 million to $53.4 billion. At the same time, the export of Russian fertilizers increased by 6.4 times, to $2.5 billion. Supplies of vegetable fats and oils also began – at the end of 2023 they amounted to $1.25 billion.
In the first four months of this year, trade between Russia and India amounted to $23.1 billion, which is almost 36% of last year’s level.
The official visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Russia takes place on July 8-9. Official Russian-Indian negotiations will take place on Tuesday.
