On May 2, the Soviet City Court of the Kaliningrad Region imposed a suspended sentence of one and a half years on Larisa Mardan in the case of attempted arson of a military registration and enlistment office (Part 3 of Article 30, Part 2 of Article 167 of the Criminal Code). The verdict was published on the court’s website, and Mediazona drew attention to it.
Mardan is 51 years old; before the arson, she worked as a cook in a kindergarten. On the afternoon of November 18, 2023, she came to the military registration and enlistment office in Sovetsk and threw three Molotov cocktails at him. At the same time, according to the video, someone instructed the woman over the phone.
She was probably a victim of telephone scammers who force Russians to take out loans and set fire to military registration and enlistment offices in order to get their money back. However, this is not mentioned in the verdict. According to the document, Mardan decided to destroy the military registration and enlistment office, “expressing her clear disrespect for society” and “demonstrating her permissiveness.”
She fully admitted guilt and asked to consider the case in a special manner, that is, without examining the evidence.
