Conveyor production of satellites will be launched in Russia in 2026

MOSCOW, July 9Conveyor production of satellites in Russia will begin in 2026; the project of a conveyor line for the production of satellites will be implemented at the enterprises of ISS Reshetnev and NPO named after S.A. Lavochkin, and the necessary costs are estimated at 60 billion rubles, said the head of the Roscosmos corporation, Yuri Borisov.
Earlier, Borisov said that the corporation plans to spend about 50 billion rubles on creating a conveyor for mass production of satellites weighing up to half a ton.

«There are two facilities «ISS Reshetnev» and the NPO named after S.A. Lavochkin, where production facilities for the production of a multi-satellite constellation will be set up. In Krasnoyarsk, the specialization is telecommunications, and in Moscow at the NPO named after Lavochkin it is remote sounding of the earth,” the head of the corporation told reporters, commenting on Roscosmos’ plans to launch conveyor production of satellites.

He noted that Roscosmos has reviewed the costs required for the program and estimates them at 60 billion rubles.
“Indeed, we are somewhere estimating together with cooperation to switch to this new model, (costs — ed.) about even 60 billion,” said the head of the corporation.
The implementation of the project, according to Borisov, is planned in two stages: the first stage will be completed in 2026, the second in 2028. And the first device can be expected to roll off the assembly line in 2026, the head of Roscosmos specified, adding that he is currently discussing the issue of budget support for the project.
