MOSCOW, July 9The arrest of the head of the main personnel department of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Yuri Kuznetsov, accused of taking a bribe, has been extended until October 12, reports a correspondent from the 235th garrison military court.
“The investigator’s request is granted,” judge Nikolai Petukhov announced the decision.
The court hearing was held behind closed doors, the audience was only allowed in for the announcement.
According to the investigation, in 2021-2023, being the head of the 8th Directorate of the General Staff of the RF Armed Forces, Kuznetsov received bribes from representatives of commercial structures for certain actions in their favor.
As an informed source said, the total amount of the bribe exceeds 30 million rubles.
All of Kuznetsov’s accounts were arrested and cash was seized. As the Investigative Committee reported, during searches at the places of actual residence and registration of Kuznetsov, more than 100 million rubles, gold coins, collectible watches and luxury items were seized.
